Supporting Our Local Veterans
The Veterans Relief Committee helps local veterans and their families in Durango when unexpected expenses arise — often where government agencies cannot.
Crucial resources and direct help for local veterans in need of support — from rent, utilities and vehicle repair to work clothing, eye exams and education costs.
Gatherings like our Veterans Benefit Breakfast, the annual fish fry and NFL Sundays at the VFW that build camaraderie and a strong local network.
Life-changing support through our annual Veteran Car Giveaway and other direct-action initiatives for veterans and their families.
Our committee’s goal is to help local veterans and their families with financial or service needs when unexpected expenses arise. We can often provide assistance which government veteran support agencies cannot. We want local veterans to feel comfortable in requesting help from us when they are in need.
The Veterans Relief Committee is a local collaboration between VFW Post 4031, Durango Elks Lodge 507 and American Legion Post 28 — focused on supporting veterans and their families right here at home.
